2010 SHRM Annual Conference & Exposition
Health Care Reform: Impacts for Employers and Employees, Part I
Attend this session to learn about the recently passed health care legislation and how it will impact your organization.
While health care coverage has been debated in Washington for over 100 years, employers don’t have nearly that much time to prepare for the massive new Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). During this first of two sessions, we will start to unravel the complexities of this new legislation. Topics covered will include plan design changes that must be contemplated in 2010 (such as expanded dependent coverage) as well as PPACA changes that will drive employer discussions on whether to offer coverage, new prevention benefits for inclusion in some plans; the upcoming new state health Exchanges, and the individual mandate and employer “play or pay (or not)” requirements.
